Air Mauritius Expands Into China
After the successful introduction of direct flights to Shanghai on the 24th of January 2013, Air Mauritius is pleased to announce that it will operate a once weekly direct service to Beijing. The flight, MK 686/687, will be operated by an Airbus A340 as from the 6th of July 2013 as per the following schedule in local timings:
MK686 (Outbound):
Mauritius Departure 13.40 Saturday
Beijing Arrival 05.45 Sunday
MK 687 (Inbound):
Beijing Departure 00.45 Monday
Mauritius Arrival 08.45 Monday
As a result the number of seats currently offered on our direct service to mainland China will increase from 596 to 894 one-way seats per week which represents a 50% increase.
With this new service, Air Mauritius now offers 9 weekly flights to destinations in China (including Hong
Kong) as follows:
• 1 direct flight to Beijing on Saturday
• 2 direct flights to Shanghai on Thursday and Sunday
• 3 direct flights to Hong Kong on Tuesday (flight starting 2nd July), Thursday and Sunday
• 3 weekly flights on Monday, Wednesday and Friday via our hub in Kuala Lumpur from where passengers may connect directly to Shanghai, Hong Kong and Beijing on code share flights
(with partner Malaysia Airlines).
Air Mauritius resumes twice weekly direct flights to Durban
Air Mauritius is reintroducing 2 direct weekly flights to Durban as from the 05th of July 2013. The flight will be operated by the Airbus A319 and will depart from Mauritius as per the following schedule in local timings:

Mauritius Departure 09:00 Friday, Sunday
Durban Arrival 11:20 Friday, Sunday
Flight No: MK 846 (Inbound)
Durban Departure 12:10 Friday, Sunday
Mauritius Arrival 18:00 Friday, Sunday
With the reintroduction of the Durban flights, the schedule on Johannesburg has been reviewed. Air Mauritius will no longer operate Johannesburg night flights as from the 02nd of May 2013. Operations to Johannesburg during daytime will remain unchanged at a frequency of 7 flights a week.
During peak periods, Air Mauritius may operate supplementary flights on Johannesburg and Durban to cater for additional demand.
