Air Mauritius voted Indian Ocean's Leading Airline
Air Mauritius was voted Indian Ocean's Leading Airline 2014 by the World Travel Awards. Amédée Maingard Lounge, the airline's lounge at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, Mauritius, was also voted Indian Ocean's Leading Airline Lounge.
This is the 10th year Air Mauritius is voted Indian Ocean's Leading Airline and the first year the airline's lounge, Amédée Maingard Lounge is voted Indian Ocean's Leading Airline Lounge.
These Awards come after the announcement of the return to profitability of the airline this year in line with the 7-Step Recovery and Sustainability Plan deployed two years ago; the achievement of Skytrax 4 Star Status and the announcement of the Airbus A 350-900 aircraft joining our long haul fleet from 2017.
André Viljoen, the airline’s CEO stated “Being close to the need of the customer is a key factor in this business. Air Mauritius has been upgraded recently from 3 star to 4 star by Skytrax. These new recognitions from the World Travel Awards comfort our position as the Leading Airline in the region. This is also the outcome of our program to step up various aspects of our products and services at different customer touch points. As this award is a result of public vote, we are proud that our efforts are being recognized by the public as well as trade and travel professionals. I wish to dedicate these awards to all Team Members of Air Mauritius who have been consistently stepping up our services to attract and retain our valued customers.”
