Cathay Pacific boosts Sydney capacity with new 777

image
6 August, 2014

Cathay Pacific will add up to 580 extra seats between Sydney and Hong Kong and around 1370 by February 2015 with the delivery of a new Boeing 777-300ER.

The new plane will operate between Sydney and Hong Kong three times per week from December and daily from February next year.

It will replace the current A330-300 three times per week service currently operating between Sydney and Hong Kong.

Cathay Pacific regional general manager Nelson Chin said that the increased service will respond to customer demand.

“We’ve seen very high passenger numbers throughout Australia and on our Sydney flights in particular this year and are therefore responding to the very solid demand by increasing capacity on a key flight,” Mr Chin said.

The additional capacity follows other increases in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Cairns.
