Dragonair strengthens Mainland China network with new service to Wenzhou
Dragonair announced it will launch a new daily service to Wenzhou, commencing on 25 January 2013 (subject to government approval). Wenzhou will become Dragonair’s 22nd destination in Mainland China, further strengthening the airline’s extensive network in its core market. The new daily service will be operated by A320 aircraft.
Wenzhou, located in Zhejiang Province in the south-east of the country, has become an economic powerhouse in the region. The city is a well-developed manufacturing and commercial hub, and its people are well-known for their entrepreneurial drive. Many Wenzhou citizens have emigrated to Europe and North America over the years, helping to strengthen the city’s ties with economies in the West.
Dragonair has resumed or launched eight destinations in 2012. In addition to Wenzhou, the airline has already announced that it will start new services to Zhengzhou and Yangon in January 2013. Following the launch of Wenzhou, Dragonair’s network will number 44 destinations in the region.
