Merger Updates from American Airlines
We’re moving closer together at LAX
It has been two months since American and US Airways legally closed our merger, and we continue moving forward to serve customers as the greatest airline in the world.
Some changes include relocating in airports to provide customers with a better travel experience. At Los Angeles (LAX), US Airways moved from Terminal 1 and now operates out of Terminal 3. The US Airways new ticket counter is located on the east end of Terminal 3, and the baggage service office is on the arrival level, east side. The US Airways Club will no longer operate and, although there are no current plans for a US Airways Club in Terminal 3, Club members can use the American Admirals Club®, located in Terminal 4.
American will continue to operate from Terminal 4 at LAX. Customers should continue to check in for flights and conduct business with the airline operating their flight. Easy access between the American and US Airways terminals is available to customers via new shuttle service.
American and US Airways operate 175 daily departures to 54 destinations in seven countries/territories from our combined hub at Los Angeles International Airport.
Codeshare Now Includes Flights to Israel
American and US Airways have worked through regulatory requirements in Israel and now US Airways' service between Tel Aviv (TLV) and Philadelphia (PHL) is included in our codeshare and available for sale. We expect to codeshare on every international flight in by the end of the first quarter.
As a reminder, please continue to check in for flights and conduct business with the airline operating your flight, and for more information and a full list of countries to be added to codeshare over the coming weeks, please visit aa.com/arriving.
Time Flies When You’re Building the World’s Greatest Airline
February 14, 2014 marked the first anniversary of the day we announced our plans to merge.
Our two airlines have come a long way over the past year, and we would not be where we are today without such the loyalty and support from each and every one of our customers.
As we move forward, there is still work left to do in aligning our airlines, but we are excited about how far we’ve come, and we’re even more excited about what’s in store for our future as the world’s greatest airline.
