AA- New details about its onboard interiors for the new Airbus and Boeing deliveries

 Today, we share details about onboard interiors for the new Airbus and Boeing narrowbody deliveries - demonstrating forward momentum for our people and a modern flying experience with more comfort and connectivity for our customers.

Key Points
Building the New American
• Growing more modern, providing more comfort, connectivity and convenience for our customers.
• Boasting the youngest fleet among the five major U.S. airlines in five years.
• Planning to offer the combination of fully lie-flat seats with all-aisle access, international Wi-Fi, and top of the line in-seat entertainment on our 777-200ERs and 777-300ERs.

A321 Transcon – New Coast-to-Coast Fleet Benefits
•         American plans to be the only airline with three class service and fully lie-flat First and Business class seats on transcontinental flights.
•         The First Class cabin will include:
o    10 fully lie-flat seats – all with direct aisle access - in a 1-1 configuration.
  The seats feature a large tray table and work surface and a personal storage unit.
  Seat controls will have intuitive design.
•         The Business Class cabin will include:
o    20 fully lie-flat seats - in a 2-2 configuration.
•         Every premium class seat will have a 15.4-inch HD-capable touchscreen monitor offering up to 75 movies, more than 150 TV programs, more than 350 audio selections and up to 15 games.
•         The Main Cabin will be arranged in a 3-3 configuration and offer 36 Main Cabin Extra seats and 36 Main Cabin seats.
o    Every seat will have an 8.9 inch HD-capable touchscreen monitor with an assortment of movies, TV programs, games and audio selections.
•         Throughout the entire aircraft, customers will enjoy:
o    Inflight Wi-Fi.
o    Seat-to-seat chat capability.
o    Live text news and weather updates.
o    3-D moving maps, airport maps, connecting gate information and more.

A321, A319, 737-800s – Domestic Fleet Benefits
•         Personal, in-seat entertainment in every seat.
•         Wi-Fi at every seat.
•         Fully-charged, individual 110 volt universal AC power outlets and USB jacks in every seat.
•         Leather seats throughout every cabin.
•         Main Cabin Extra seating, which will be installed on all new deliveries, will offer the option of additional legroom and priority boarding privileges.
•         Plus, the latest in aerodynamic improvements will reduce fuel burn creating a more eco-friendly American.

Airbus and Boeing Deliveries
 
•         AA plans to take delivery of the Airbus and Boeing aircraft through 2017:
o    130 Airbus aircraft from the A321 and A319 variants
o    100 Boeing 737-800s
•         The A321 transcontinental aircraft will replace our existing fleet of Boeing
767-200s as they retire and fly between JFK and San Francisco (SFO) and JFK and LAX.
•         AA plans to configure some of the A321s for transcontinental flights and use the remaining A321s, A319s, and the new Boeing 737-800s to accommodate market growth and to retire aging aircraft.
•         Replace theBoeing 757-200 and MD-80 fleet with A321s, A319s and Boeing 737-800s - all with leather seats, Wi-Fi and in-seat inflight entertainment throughout the aircraft. 
o    These aircraft will have a two-class cabin configuration, Main Cabin Extra and individual 110 volt universal AC power outlets at every seat.
 
•         Starting in 2013, every new American Airlines plane will offer personal, in-seat entertainment, Wi-Fi and powerports at every seat.
