Qantas Airways QF100 Lands In Istanbul
TAL Aviation Turkey’s Country Manager Mirey Goldag and staff were among the guests at Istanbul Airport’s passenger gate to greet passengers on board the first Qantas flight landing in Istanbul on 22 April.
QF100 carried more than 350 passengers to Istanbul via Perth with a flight time of 14 hours and 35 minutes on a Boeing 747-400ER. The special flight was carrying Australians on their way to Gallipoli to mark the Centenary of ANZAC.
Among the passengers were 10 widows of World War One veterans who were guests of honour at a commemorative event ahead of the flight joined by Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce, Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove, Prime Minister Tony Abbott and Senator Michael Ronaldson, Minister for Veterans’ Affairs.
