Team celebrates completion of FB2 retrofit on 777-300ERs
TAECO staff joined with the team from CX Engineering to celebrate an important milestone in the new Business Class (FB2) project – the completion of the retrofit programme on the Boeing 777-300ER fleet.
Eighteen aircraft have been completed since the first went into the hangar almost exactly a year ago. Over this time the turnaround time has been reduced from 31 to an impressive 16 days. A Premium Economy retrofit has been added on inputs since March this year.
The appreciation dinner in Xiamen was attended by Engineer Director Chris Gibbs, recently appointed TAECO CEO Steve Chadwick and other senior staff from ENG and TAECO. Excellence Awards were given out to some of the TAECO team who worked hard to get the programme completed.
“This achievement has been made possible thanks to great teamwork between TAECO and Cathay and also with the many vendors involved including Boeing, Panasonic and Sicma,” Chris said.
“All the hard work is worth it. CX has just been voted best business class in the world by Skytrax. This world-leading product fitted by TAECO and HAECO in a cost-effective and timely way will help CX achieve its even higher objective of being the best airline in the world.”
