Travvy Awards Recognize Enterprise Holdings for Outstanding Leadership and Excellence

23 January, 2015

Enterprise Holdings – which owns and operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands – yesterday received two top honors at the 2015 Travvy Awards Gala, presented by travAlliancemedia. In addition to being named the Best Domestic Car Rental Company, the company also was honored when Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Vice President Greg Stubblefield received the Most Innovative Car Rental Executive Award.

The Travvy Awards recognize travel and tourism companies, products, agencies and bureaus that embody the highest standards of excellence. Recipients are chosen based on a rigorous judging process that ensures the best of the best in the travel industry are acknowledged for their achievements.

Enterprise Holdings’ leadership position in the U.S. car rental industry is well-documented, as it operates significantly more vehicles than all other U.S. car rental companies combined. In addition, Enterprise Rent-A-Car was the highest-ranked car rental brand in the J.D. Power 2014 North American Rental Car Satisfaction StudySM . The Enterprise brand received the highest score for the ninth time in the past eleven years, excelling in all six factors: costs and fees; pick-up process; rental car; return process; reservation process; and shuttle bus/van. National ranked second in the annual study, followed by Alamo (tied for third) – with all three brands once again finishing above the industry average.

Enterprise Holdings’ diverse brand portfolio also accounts for the largest market share at U.S. airports. Furthermore, its car rental network operates more than 6,000 fully staffed neighborhood and airport offices – almost 70 percent more than its nearest U.S. competitor. These convenient and accessible offices are located within 15 miles of 90 percent of the U.S. population and reflect the company’s longtime focus on offering sustainable local transportation options, including vanpooling and car sharing.

“Receiving not just one but two Travvy Awards is a testament to our high standard of customer service and our disciplined, long-term approach to managing our business, both at the airport and in thousands of local neighborhoods,” said Pam Nicholson, President and Chief Executive Officer at Enterprise Holdings.

Travel Industry Advocacy

The annual revenues of Enterprise Holdings, the only investment-grade car rental company in North America, rank near the top of the travel industry – ahead of many airlines and most cruise lines, hotels, tour operators and online travel agencies. As a result, Enterprise Holdings not only plays a key role in the U.S. travel marketplace, but also advocates on behalf of the travel industry’s public-policy priorities.

For example, Stubblefield serves on the U.S. Travel and Tourism Advisory Board and co-chairs the Board’s Infrastructure subcommittee. As the advisory body to the Secretary of Commerce, the Board provides counsel on current tourism industry concerns, emerging issues and government policies, including car rental excise taxes. Stubblefield also serves on the U.S. Travel Association’s CEO Roundtable on behalf of the Alamo, Enterprise and National car rental brands, and he represents Enterprise Holdings on the World Travel and Tourism Council.

Last year, Stubblefield also met with President Barack Obama, senior officials and fellow travel industry leaders to support a new White House Memorandum calling for airport-specific plans to maximize tourism’s economic impact and to provide a better experience for international travelers entering the United States. And at the Travel Leaders National Meeting in November, Stubblefield addressed an audience of travel agents and business leaders on how mobile technology and globalization are transforming the way the travel industry approaches the customer experience.
