Two Weekly Air Mauritius Flights To Shanghai As From 24 January 2013
The Air Mauritius service to Shanghai via Kuala Lumpur, inaugurated on the 4th of July 2011 has returned positive results. It has substantially stimulated demand from the Chinese market with a growth of 38.3% in the number of arrivals from China registered for the period January to September 2012.
Fully aware of the need to rebalance growth to emerging markets and given the scale of China’s outbound tourism and the opportunities for growth that this represents for Mauritius’ tourist industry, Air Mauritius is pleased to announce that effective 24th January 2013 it will operate two direct weekly flights to Shanghai. Both flights will offer connections to and from Reunion, Madagascar and South Africa.
With the introduction of these new services, Air Mauritius will significantly increase its weekly capacity by
300%; moving from 150 to 596 seats one-way a week.
Flight MK 688/689 which will be operated by the Airbus A340 aircraft is planned to fly Mauritius- Shanghai-Mauritius on Thursdays and Sundays from Mauritius and on Fridays and Mondays out of Shanghai under the following schedules (subject to slots clearances):
