Air Mauritius declares MUR 1.06 billion profits for FY16-17

Air Mauritius has announced profits of EUR 26.9million (MUR 1.06 billion) in a landmark year where, it celebrates its 50th anniversary, it crosses the MUR 1 billion milestone for the first time in its history and in a year where it also announced unprecedented investments in its future.
All operating performance indicators have progressed except yield. Number of seats offered increased by 6.1% to reach 2.1 million and the number of passenger carried progressed by 6.9% to reach a record high of 1.6 million. Yield dropped by 6.9% to reach EUR 255 because of competitors under-cutting prices.
