Air Serbia to increase capacities on Zurich flights
Air Serbia, the national airline of the Republic of Serbia, will increase the number of weekly flights to Zurich starting from 2 February 2021. Due to a partial relaxation of travel restrictions in Switzerland, which came into effect on 21 January, as well as the consequentially increased interest among passengers, Air Serbia will increase its capacities by introducing additional flights and changing the type of aircraft used. The plan for the coming period is to operate up to 7 flights a week between Belgrade and Zurich.
“We are pleased that the conditions allow us to again bolster one of our most important destinations. We are carefully monitoring all changes in demand and travel restrictions, and we are adapting the volume of traffic to allow for the best possible connectivity between Switzerland and Serbia, and the broader region,” said Jiri Marek, General Manager Commercial and Strategy at Air Serbia.
Since the beginning of the gradual recommencement of flights on 21 May 2020 until today, Zurich has been one of Air Serbia’s best routes together with New York. During October, the national airline operated flights to Switzerland’s biggest city more often than in the pre-pandemic period, performing up to 22 flights a week, or record-breaking four flights a day on Saturdays and Sundays.
Air Serbia recommends that all passengers who are considering travelling to Zurich check with the diplomatic and consular offices of Switzerland whether they are allowed to travel there, in accordance with the latest measures.
