airBaltic carries next one million face masks to Latvia

Latvian airline airBaltic this week performed the second special cargo flight to and from Ürümqi Diwopu International Airport in China, bringing around one million face masks made in Zhejiang and Jiangsu regions to Latvia.

The total flight time to the Ürümqi Diwopu International Airport was 6 hours, but the flight back on April 10 took 6 hours and 50 minutes. airBaltic with Airbus A220-300 aircraft covered 4 815 km non-stop distance one way between Riga International Airport and the Ürümqi Diwopu International Airport.

This task was executed in close cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, AirLink Aviation Services and Wish Global.

Overall, 621 boxes or 5.4 tonnes of approximately one million face masks were carried intended for the National Health Service of the Republic of Latvia. Three pilots and two technicians were on board the aircraft to perform the flight.
