American Airlines is celebrating 25 years of service from London Heathrow (LHR) to Chicago (ORD),
Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA) and New York JFK. American began initial services from London Gatwick Airport (LGW) before we transitioned to Heathrow in 1991.

American Airlines operates up to 19 daily nonstop flights between London Heathrow and Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas Fort/Worth (DFW), New York JFK, Los Angeles, Miami, Philadelphia (PHL) and Raleigh-Durham (RDU). Combined with our joint business partner British Airways, coverage increases to almost 30 destinations.

Together American and British Airways are offering lie-flat seats in Business Class on every flight between London Heathrow (LHR) and the U.S. Modern interiors, direct aisle access, increased entertainment options, an industry-leading personal workspace and a more private in-flight experience bring customers an even better journey. In addition, Wi Fi will be available on every flight to New York JFK, Los Angeles, Dallas Fort Worth and Miami operated by American’s B777-300 and B777-200 Retrofit aircraft.

American Airlines' Admirals Club® is the perfect place to unwind, refresh and recharge.  Customers can enjoy complimentary drinks and freshly-prepared hot food throughout the day, as well as ‘spa-like showers’.  Or catch-up with  Wi-Fi and power outlets and dedicated business center facilities.

Later this month,  American's refurbished Arrivals Lounge reopens, in Terminal 3, LHR. Customers can make use of our business center and meeting rooms, benefit from 29 shower rooms, with complimentary CC Bigalow shower toiletries and have their clothes pressed by our valet service. A hot and cold breakfast buffet, including tailor made smoothies, pastries and build their own breakfast of omelets, pancakes and porridge, is on offer, or choose from an “A La Carte” menu option.  In addition, we are introducing a lunch service with which customers can choose from hot and cold buffet, a selection of artisan breads, British cheese board, seasonal dishes and an “A La Carte” menu option.  All of this can be enjoyed with a chilled glass of Champagne or Bucks Fizz.
