Fijitime recognised as Australasia's leading inflight magazine
Fiji Airways inflight magazine, FijiTime has been recognised as Australasia’s Leading Inflight Magazine for 2017 by the prestigious World Travel Awards at its regional awards gala ceremony which was held in Shanghai last night. It was nominated alongside Jetstar magazine, KiaOra Magazine (Air New Zealand), Paradise – the inflight magazine of Air Niugini, Qantas’ Spirit of Australia, Reva Tahiti Magazine (Air Tahiti), and Voyeur (Virgin Australia).
Acknowledged globally as the hallmark of industry distinction, World Travel Awards celebrates and recognises excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries. Fiji Airways has previously been nominated in other categories but this is its first nomination and win in the inflight magazine category.
Fiji Airways Executive General Manager Corporate Affairs commented on acceptance of the award, “We’re absolutely thrilled to receive this award. Since our rebranding to Fiji Airways in 2013 we have made significant improvements to modernise our product and enhance our customer experience. The inflight magazine is an important aspect of this experience, and we are continuously working to improve it for the enjoyment of our guests. Our company vision is to be the Most Desired, Most Flown, and Most Profitable airline in the South Pacific, and to be recognised by such a prestigious organisation is validation that we’re on the right path.”
World Travel Awards President and Founder, Mr. Graham Cooke congratulated Fiji Airways on the win, saying, "It has been an honour to recognise the achievements of Fiji Airways. My heartfelt congratulations to each and every member of the Fiji Airways team. It is your hard work, dedication, initiative and investment that has helped make the airline the towering success it is today."
Winners for the World Travel Awards are decided through a global online voting process, with awards presented across three tiers: country, regional and world awards. Fiji Airways will go on to compete against other regional winners in the category for the world awards in December.
