Icelandair continues to expand its global network with additional flights, aircraft and increased capacity to and from North America. As part of the 2017 schedule, Icelandair will now offer up to double daily service from Washington-Dulles, daily service from Chicago and Edmonton, up to 9 flights a week from Denver and up to 5 flights a week from Portland. With the additional Denver flights, Icelandair becomes the first carrier in Denver aviation history to operate double daily transatlantic flights to the same destination.

Earlier this month, Icelandair also announced year-round service from Tampa International Airport (TPA) with flights beginning September 7, 2017; and seasonal service from Philadelphia starting May 30, 2017. With new gateways, increased flights and a boost in capacity, including the addition of recently acquired Boeing 767s to the fleet, Icelandair will offer the largest flight network in its 79 year history.

Icelandair, in operation since 1937, has a long, illustrious history of bridging North America and mainland Europe through Iceland. The airline has helped boost tourism to its home country in record numbers and helped to make Iceland one of Europe’s hottest destinations. Today, Icelandair continues to grow by adding new aircraft to its modern fleet, more destinations and popular amenities including personal in-flight entertainment and gate-to-gate Wi-Fi access for every passenger.

Icelandair’s European destinations will also see increases in summer 2017. Beginning in June, additional weekly flights will commence to Amsterdam, Billund, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Helsinki, Milan and Stockholm. Increases to the United Kingdom will also start in March and May with additional flights to both Glasgow and Manchester, respectively.
