New South American Destinations

image
14 February, 2019

Beginning this spring, we’ll be increasing connectivity to Latin America. As of May 1, 2019, there will be a non-stop flight from Mexico City to Guayaquil, Ecuador. Two weeks later on May 16, we’ll be adding another direct route to Cali, Colombia.

The latter will be our third destination in Colombia, adding to Medellin and Bogota, which were inaugurated in 2010 and 2015, respectively. This flight will be operated by Boeing 737-700 aircraft four times weekly.

Guayaquil will stand as our second Ecuadorian destination, as we began non-stop service to Quito some five years ago. This frequency is set for three times a week, on our Boeing 737-800s.

Our Executive Vice President of Global Sales, Anko Van Der Werff, weighed in: “At Aeromexico, we’re proud to offer Mexicans and travelers with connecting flights more destinations in Latin America. We’ve been operating for more than 20 years in South America, flying to seven major cities, which makes us the Mexican airline with major presence in the region.”

Santiago de Guayaquil, known as the ‘Pearl of the Pacific’ for its large ports and gorgeous surrounding beaches, is located on the Pacific coast of Ecuador. Guayaquil is the country’s financial hub and one of Latin America’s largest maritime ports.

We’re proud to be adding these flights to our network of 93 destinations, which includes 50 international routes to three continents.
